Socks, that my daughter will wear!

OK both of my children never seem to be able to keep socks on their feet, They are like me in the fact that i would rather wear nothing on my feet then have something that feels scratchy or constricting on my feet. So i thought what the hay and i made my daughter her first pair of socks and to be honest if i peeled them off her feet (keep in mind she is sleeping at the moment) i am dam sure they would sick to the wall. She absolutely loves them. Now i am making a pair for my mummy dearest.

Ploughing Day and Mothers Day.

On the 6Th of May Shaun took Nikita and i on a outing to Ploughing Day, which is when they bring out all the antique tractors. Shaun loves old tractors and dreams of the day he can own a few too. Hence why we would love to buy a couple of aches. They had Clydesdale's pulling ploughs, people giving sheep haircuts, (my favourite) Women spinning the fleece, free face painting, Camel and horse rides, bouncing castle, man showing traditional metal work (Blacksmiths), a lot of old cars, tractors, dirt bikes, and Shaun's favourite thing helicopter rides. Every since Shaun and i have met that is all he has wanted to do, and he finally got to do it. Now it seems he wants a helicopter of his own. (Great if you got half a million just laying around). It was a great day and we all had a ball.

Yesterday was of course Mothers day and my family and i went to Central Districts Football Club for dinner. I had a chicken kevi (I love garlic), Shaun had kangaroo in chili plum sauce, Matthew had pizza and chips, while Nikita has chicken Nuggets and chips. Very nice meals, kangaroo was very tender. I scored loads of presents, got spoilt rotten. Shaun made me breakfast in bed which was so yummy, scrambled eggs and toast. I love mothers day.

Golden Rule

Matthew came fourth in his jazz troupe last night. I am so proud of my little man.
Haven't been behind the scenes in a dancing competition for a while but being there last night you can see why little ballerina's grow up and become arrogant towards other schools, and mummy dearest came blame herself for that and all it takes is for a couple of mums to spoil and disgrace a name for the whole school.

While there last night, i was waiting for Matthew to get his bear nose on, when three mums from the school next to us, Eastern Districts Academy of Dance http://www.edad.com.au/index.htm starting talking rather loudly about our school and how they were poopy that our school has so much space and we for the first time had managed to get one of the little single rooms. This conversation between the three of them went on for a while and even through they knew i could hear they didn't stop.

Now these parents should be ashamed of themselves and be given a good kit up the butt. What kind of social skills does that teach your childern and they are giving a great and talented dance school a bad rep. Especially when children from different dance schools wear t-shirts or jumpers with their school logos on them. Not the smartest thing to do, have your mum advertise that she has a carrot up her bum.

I have nothing against the school, i think these girls have worked hard and have amazing talent, but the mums need to follow the golden rule i teach my children, if you can't say nothing nice don't say anything at all.

Matthew looked so cute, he got frustrated with me cause i wouldn't let him rub his nose when it was itchy, but hey it would of been worse to have a black smear across his face. He was a bit bummed he only got fourth but i said did you have fun, he said yes, said that is all that matters.
I am soooooo proud of him, and don't care what he comes as long as he has fun doing it.

That time of year

Tonite my little handsome man will be in his first competition at Norwood Concert Hall. I think i am more excited then him. His is dancing in a jazz troupe to the song from the Jungle Book, BEAR NECESSITIES. They are dressed as Jungle animals. Then another on Saturday night for a tap troupe. Song is Summer Day. Fingers crossed.

Attempting

Today i am attempting to dye some yarn. Its come down to that i am stick of not being able to find the colours i am after, or even the colour combinations and being South Australia we don't have a big selection here.
So i am taking matters into my own hands.... Just soaking the unknow yarn know. Been reading a bit about this whole dying process and everything seems to say that natural fibres are better to work with when you are a beginning. So i am following some dying intstructions from simply knitting. Keep you posted.
On other news i have started my HSKS bag for my swap partner. She is in RavenClaw.

Letting off steam

Spoke to my other half tonight and got the feeling he was tired of me, I know he gets frustrated with me and my kids a lot. It's hard for him he is use to being on his own and i am use to doing things my way and when i want to. I don't like to have to check things through with another person. It is hard for my to change my lifestyle, I like the perks of living with just me and my kids and my kids are use to it to. Having someone move in just doesn't affect my lifestyle but their little life's to. My other half and i always go through these little episodes every now and then. Must be due for one. Sometimes i find that we don't communicate with each other very well and things just bottle up until they explode with us let every little thing out and sometimes even the hurtful stuff that we know we don't mean. It does take a lot to keep my attention, don't like to deal with things when they become to hard, or made to be harder then what they should be, prefer to walk away. I have enough hard things in my life with raising two children by myself i don't need anything else thrown my way. Maybe i should stop protecting shaun and let him know what my life is really about not just what i want him to know, not sure if he could handle it. Would be a test. I want him to see i can't be what he wants me to be !!

In South Australia we don't have a big selection of double point needles so to be honest any needles would be great .

I mainly knit with metal knitting needles but i like bamboo to. Prefer needles that are short.
